The bees survive

Around 200,000 bees had been kept on the roof on Notre Dame since 2013 and were initially thought to have perished in the fire, but most have survived.

Lily Safra has said she will give $22 million and Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, the owner of L’Oreal, pledged another $100 million, according to sources.

The chief priest of Notre Dame has said catholic worshippers will soon be able to use a wooden church in the grounds of Notre Dame while the renovation is done.
